COUNTY ASSESSORS
Dates
through1843 are from Muncie Public Library boxed County papers -
bonds filed in Circuit Court. Other sources are as noted.
From 1827 to 1841, county assessors were appointed by the county
commissioners. The county assessor's office was abolished
in 1852, briefly reinstated in 1872 and re-established by the
Act of 1891. It then became an elected office with a
4-year term.
